| On 27-29 September 2006, iSOFT Australia & New Zealand held a first-of-a-kind conference, the iSOFT Healthcare Forum 2006 (iNSPIRE’06), at the Hyatt Regency Sanctuary Cove, Queensland, Australia. The aim: to bring together national and regional policy-makers and authorities, iSOFT customers and company representatives for a mutually productive exchange of news and views. Overall, I enjoyed the conference and it met my expectations. It is always difficult to get the right mix of speakers and presentations to keep everyone’s attention over two days. Duncan McNeil’s dry, down-to-earth presentation style was a highlight, and his content very relevant and timely.
The conference logistics worked very well – all the catering was well received – with the only downside being the storm that meant the Hawaiian night had to be shifted inside, but that didn’t seem to bother the dancers, and certainly not the onlookers, that’s for sure!
The user group meeting at the conclusion of day 2 provided an excellent forum for all iSOFT clients to discuss various issues and initiate the development of terms of reference for the group for future meetings.
As Arnie once said, “I’ll be back…”
