The Web offers many new opportunities to people with disabilities that are unavailable through any other medium. It provides a method for accessing information, making purchases, and communicating with the world that does not depend on the responsiveness of other people. Many Internet users with disabilities find websites difficult or even impossible to use simply because of the way they are designed.
As a provider of application software to the healthcare industry, iSOFT is acutely aware of it’s responsibility to promote equality in the delivery of information services. This website has been developed to ensure that the information provided is freely available to all interested parties.
Throughout the website every attempt has been made to comply with UK Government guidelines regarding Web accessibility. A text-only version of the site is available via the link in the bottom-right corner of every page; this version is suitable for use with Braille keyboards and can also be resized for the partially sighted. Through-out the graphically rich site all imagery has been ‘tagged’, to allow for easy identification of the image content, compliant with Dublin-Core guidelines.
iSOFT is committed to making its website as accessible as possible to all audiences and will continue to enhance the site accessibility features as the website develops. Future development stages will include a multi-lingual functionality module to allow global accessibility.
