Manchester Evening News names iSOFT Business of the Year | |||||

iSOFT, a leading international supplier of software applications to the healthcare market, was awarded Business of the Year by the Manchester Evening News (M.EN.) on Thursday, the 3rd of November. The M.E.N. selected iSOFT because of its strong financial performance, market leading product offering and contribution to the region. The M.E.N. Business of the Year Awards Programme was launched to recognise excellence among regional companies of different sizes across all sectors. The M.E.N. takes into consideration clear vision of management performance, employee growth, customer service, innovation and risk management. A year of delivery and growth secured for iSOFT the MEN Business of the Year Award in the over £50m turnover category. The iSOFT Group successfully launched its market-leading LORENZO software solutions into both existing and international markets, notably through Global Innovation Partners Robert Bosch Hospital in Germany and Singapore Health, and entered the Spanish market through the strategic acquisition of Novasoft Sanidad. In its last year of account, iSOFT’s revenues grew to £262m, an increase of just over 75% from the previous year, and employee numbers rose from 1,338 to 3,000. iSOFT is the only one of the top five software and computer services companies listed on the London Stock Exchange to be based in the North West. With headquarters in Manchester and three other offices across the North West, iSOFT employs nearly 400 people in the region and contributed over £20m investment to the regional economy last year. The M.E.N. Awards judging panel said, “One of Manchester and the North West’s greatest success stories in recent years, iSOFT is a dynamic business with world-beating potential. It has pulled off a challenging merger and is now weighing up a move into the US market.” iSOFT’s Chief Executive Officer Tim Whiston said: “I am delighted to celebrate iSOFT’s success by receiving the MEN Business of the Year Award.
